Since 2010, I have been working on building a portfolio of recordings. My musical portfolio includes covers, recitals, solo performances, studio recordings, & private freelance work that can be viewed on YouTube, Vimeo, and Instagram. Below are some examples.
This video is a cover & arrangement of the Tame Impala song The Less I Know The Better. I produced this after my first few months of moving to Denver, CO when I was on my one-year contract with the Colorado Symphony. I was so excited to be in Denver and have a real job albeit temporary at the time. I filmed my commute to Boettcher Hall and interspersed the footage with a performance of the cover.
In preparation for the a ‘one-off’ show with Itzhak Perlman where the Colorado Symphony programmed Ginastera’s Variaciones Concertante, I recorded and arranged the bass solo to be accompanied by guitar instead of harp. I think it’s a pretty effective arrangement!
"I wanted to die...what saved me...was that music..."
Street Symphony is honored to share the brave story of Don Garza. Don is a long-time resident and representative of the Skid Row community. He was a marine, a combat veteran in Desert Storm. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, he lived on the streets, battled severe PTSD, and ultimately became a powerful voice in his community. Don shares with us the heart-wrenching story of how music of Handel's Messiah brought him back to life.
I produced this entire mini-documentary before I left Los Angeles in December 2015. I believe this project is a culmination in my freelance audio and video work.
